Abben Cancer Center Oncologist to Launch Outreach Clinic at Pocahontas Community Hospital

Abben Cancer Center of Spencer Hospital is proud to announce the expansion of its oncology services with the introduction of an outreach clinic at Pocahontas Community Hospital. Beginning February 28, Dr. Luis Cuervo, a highly respected medical oncologist from Abben Cancer Center, will see patients in Pocahontas twice a month, offering consultations, follow-up appointments, and select non-chemotherapy treatments. 

Spencer Hospital Birth Center Celebrates 2024: A Year of Welcoming Over 200 Babies

The year 2024 brought joy and excitement to Spencer Hospital's Birth Center, where over 200 new bundles of joy were welcomed into the world. The babies born this year showcased a delightful variety of names, spanning the alphabet from Abel to Zara.


“Our team loves building connections with each family and playing a part in their unique birth experiences,” shared Ann Polaschek, Birth Center Director. “Every baby is special, and it’s fascinating to see their personalities shine from the very first day. It’s always a treat to learn the thoughtful names parents choose for their little ones.” 

Seeking Applicants for 2025 Healthcare Scholarships & Loan Program - Deadline March 31st

Applications are now being accepted for the Bennie B. and Ernestine F. Shine Scholarship, Adam J. Anderson Scholarship, as well as the Cornwall Loan Program. All programs are designed to help area students pursue healthcare careers. Deadline is March 31, 2025.
