| | | | Taittinger Brut Réserve FIFA World Cup Collector's Edition NV A must-have for all you footballers!
92 Points! Fresh croissants, green apples, grapefruit and light walnuts on the nose of this crisp, balanced Champagne. Medium-bodied, seamless and sleek. 40% chardonnay, 35% pinot noir and 25% pinot meunier. - JamesSuckling.com
The aging of Brut Reserve on the lees for almost 4 years more than doubles the legal minimum of 15 months. This extra time in the cellars allows the wine to reach the peak of aromatic maturity, and the result is a delicately balanced Champagne, known for its consistently excellent quality.

| | | | Lopez de Heredia Rioja Viña Cubillo Crianza 2018
For those of you that may not recall, Lopez de Heredia bottles all their wines by their individual vineyards. This may come as a shock to many Rioja drinkers who are used to larger Rioja houses blending multiple vineyard sites to produce their individual wines on a stylistic Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva level.
But, as some of you already know, Lopez is different. Each of their vineyard parcels produces a specific wine. Tondonia, Bosconia, Cubillo, Gravonia, all of them are geared towards single vineyard winemaking and, guess what, their Cubillo vineyard isn’t all that big. In fact, Cubillo is ¼ the size of the Tondonia Vineyard!
Viña Cubillas (as the vineyard is called) has an altitude of 410 m, and the vines have an average age of 40 years. The soil is from the tertiary age and is a mixture of clay and limestone. Viña Cubillas covers 24 ha, of which 16 ha are under Tempranillo, 4 ha Garnacha, 2 ha Mazuelo and 2 ha Graciano. With parcels called "La Encina" and "La Monja", Viña Cubillas is a vineyard that produces exceptional wines sold as Crianza yet these wines could easily be marketed as Gran Reservas due to the exceptional combination of soil, aspect and vines, as well as aging but, Lopez being Lopez, it’s ‘only’ Crianza.
