Established in 1731 in the heart of one of the world’s most treasured terroirs, Bouchard Pere & Fils has dedicated over two centuries to nurture, preserve and convey the essence of Burgundy. In 1775 Bouchard acquired their first plots in Volnay and Pommard. It remained in the family’s ownership until 1995, when it was purchased by the Henriot family of Champagne. In 2022, they joined the prestigious Artemis Domaines group. Throughout it all, Bouchard has maintained an uncompromising effort to uphold the utmost care and dedication to producing the very best wines, both in the cellars and in the vineyards.

The Release of the New Vintage of the Incomparable

The '22 Opus is destined to be a "classic" and a must have!

Opus One 2022, 0.75
Score: 97DM
Price: $448.00 (30 available)

“The aromas are high-toned with cassis and graphite, and a cinnamon-dusted red berry character nuanced by the woody, spicy aromas of just-cut rose stems balanced by fresh rose petals and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's a creamy wine with a bit more satin or velvet texture than the 2021, and a touch more sweetness in the berry fruit, but balanced by the textural integrity of the tannins. The finish is sweetly floral and tamed by a salty mineral quality that lingers. There's a real brightness to this wine as it opens in the glass.” - 97, Decanter, Aug 2024

“The 2022 Opus One was tasted as a barrel sample. Deep garnet-purple in color, it soars with eager-to-go notes of blackcurrant pastilles, juicy blackberries, and plum preserves leading to hints of crushed rocks, tree bark, and Sichuan pepper. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and impactful, with a firm line of ripe, grainy tannins and bags of black fruit preserves layers, finishing with loads of savory nuances and a compelling lift.” - 95-97, The Wine Independent

“Generous, with savory aromas of ripe blackcurrants and fresh black cherries and a gentle texture that shows a slight nip of tannin. It is well structured and a bit tight, which is normal for a young cabernet sauvignon-based red that’s a proven collectible. Gives up graphite and pencil shavings, some cocoa and espresso. Full-bodied. Spicy, toasty oak is really showing through right now.” - 96, James Suckling, Jul 2025

Opus One Overture 2022, 0.75
Score: .PN
Price: $179.00 (22 available)

"Overture 2022 captivates you from the start. Its aromatic profile weaves a complex tapestry of bright cherry, fresh forest berries, and cut rose stems interwoven with delicate scents of violets, toasted almond, and anise. Blackberry, blueberry, and wild cherry take the lead on the palate with a lively acidity that adds a vibrant edge. The finish is long and rounded, with a touch of mocha and black tea that showcase the wine’s depth. This expression of selected parcels from our estate vineyards will age gracefully for years to come." - Producer Notes
