| | | | | Located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, Dugat Py is best known for their Reds. Although, they do produce both Premier Cru and Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Coton-Charlemagne vineyard. The Domaine was created through the marriage of Bernard Dugat and Jocelyne Py in 1979.
Established as its current incarnation in 1994, in 1996 Loic Dugat, Bernard and Jocelyne's son, joined the family business, starting a new era, both in production and in style. Historically known for producing powerful, age-worthy wines with deep color, intense fruit, and structured tannins, the renowned estate has evolved significantly under Loic Dugat’s leadership. Over his tenure, Loic has also intensified his search for old vine plots, with nearly all his sites aged 50 years or more. Since assuming full control, Loic has introduced a lighter touch in the cellar, especially regarding the use of new oak, reducing percentages significantly over the years. Loic’s approach emphasizes freshness, balance, and finesse. Due to the incredible genetics of the vines, while these wines remain bold and concentrated, they now exude a newfound elegance and precision, reflecting a modern take on the Domaine's traditional style.
