| | | One of the top two wines from our Bouchard tasting two weeks ago, which included several other Grand Cru with age. The 2016 Le Corton was simply delicious and provided a great price-to-deliciousness ratio ($160 for a Grand Cru with age – amazing!).
The only red Grand Cru in the Cote de Beaune, Corton is also the only Grand Cru in the Cote d’Or to be divided into ‘sub-climat’. Bouchard owns about 60% of the climat of Le Corton, a unique feature of which is that it can be planted with either Pinot Noir or Chardonnay. The 2016 is in its prime drinking window and should last another 10+ years. It was truly a joy to be able to sample this wine. |
