Our poor town of Thousand Oaks - just a 10 days ago we had a mass shooting AND a devastating wildfire. My son lost 2 friends in the shooting. We were evacuated due to the fire but our home was saved, though several homes burned in our neighborhood, including 1 house across the street and just 2 doors up. 12 young people lost in the shooting, 3 lives and more than 1000 homes lost in the fire. We're still reeling. Amid so much tragedy so close by, I'm just grateful to be OK.
