A tsunami warning affecting Okinawa and the Miyako and Yaeyama Islands region was just issued, with instructions to evacuate immediately. Monitor local news media and follow the guidance of local authorities. Updates from the Japan Meteorological Agency can be found online.


The U.S. Consulate General in Naha will close for routine operations and consular appointments from Wednesday, April 3, 2024 until further notice.
