Security Preparations
Republican Midterm Convention

Security preparations for the first Republican Midterm Convention at American Airlines Center in Dallas reflect a compressed National Special Security Event-style posture for a protectee-heavy political rally expected to draw roughly 20,000 attendees per night.
President Trump and Vice President Vance will appear both evenings. The event was publicly confirmed only in late June, leaving far less runway than a traditional nominating convention.
Command and Partners
U.S. Secret Service is coordinating protective operations with Dallas PD, Dallas Fire-Rescue, DART Police, FBI Dallas, HSI, U.S. Capitol Police, and other federal partners. Dallas County’s joint operations center/EOC is serving as a multi-agency command hub for Secret Service, FBI, DHS, Marshals Service, and partner elements. Experience from recent FIFA World Cup operations in North Texas is being leveraged for interoperability.

Visible measures begin Sept. 4: Temporary fencing, vehicle barriers, checkpoints, access-control points, and credentialing.

Temporary flight restrictions cover manned and unmanned aircraft over downtown; operators must consult NOTAMs.
Attendee Screening
Those entering the American Airlines Center for the Republican Midterm Convention will go through a mandatory U.S. Secret Service / TSA-style attendee screening process (credentials, bags, magnetometers).
Demonstrations and Public Order
Several coalitions and organizations have scheduled protests tied to the event. The main organizer is the Dallas Against the Trump Agenda (DATA) coalition.
Member groups include:

Recurring protest themes are immigration enforcement, voting access and maps, the Iran conflict, and economic issues. Expect the standard LGBTQ, anti-Israel, "Out of Gaza" contingents to be present as well. Plans remain fluid; additional local or flash actions are common in this environment.
