USGOV issuing travel warning for Cuba today advising against travel to the country. ~60% of US embassy staff ordered to depart, visa services halted. See email.

Unlike the Sept 18 travel warning due to damage from hurricane Irma, the advisory expected later today will warn of potential of attacks on American citizens in hotels. The move comes following specific attacks that have harmed U.S. diplomats.

More than half of the embassy staff and their families has been ordered to depart and visa services enabling Cuban citizens to enter the U.S. have been suspended indefinitely. 

Note that this travel warning has NOT yet been issued. Links to the formal travel warning will be included in this week's issue of the Threat Journal newsletter.
