SEED’s role in the consortiumAt SEED, we focus on community-driven development and long-term sustainability. Within SUM, and through our Project Masoandro (“sun” in Malagasy), we are supporting the implementation of “Light Libraries” and Digital Learning in schools in the Anosy region, contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
Through community-run “Light Libraries”, families can rent affordable solar lamps and batteries, improving safety, education, and livelihoods while generating income for local schools. Building on this, the Digital Learning programme uses solar-powered tablets in classrooms to equip teachers and engage over 500 students with high-quality educational resources. |
