The latest notes of the Federal Reserve's meeting indicated the Fed is getting tuned into the housing crisis. Longtime readers will note I've been "beating on this drum" for quite some time.

The Feds concerns are "limited availability of lots and a shortage of skilled labor."

The supply problem isn't going away soon, the population keeps growing, and a lot of people who were shut out of housing due to foreclosures are coming back. It all adds up to more demand for affordable housing than supply.

Rents are on a tear in many cities, and Phoenix is in the top 10 for rental increases. Bloomberg has a useful summary of interesting statistics.

Wealthy people are under-estimating their security risks, according to a story in the Wall Street Journal

One of the biggest risks is social media. It's not just that you should be cautious about what you post, it's family members and employees that need to also be cautious.
