I know we only celebrate Thanksgiving today in the US..
all around the world.
but there is always an opportunity for gratitude..
I have a story about myself that I would like to share with you.
It is why I was propelled to grab LIFE by the horns. To create my own destiny!
I know this seems clichéd but it’s true.
Within the past 3 years I've had 3 deaths of loved ones in my family..
One being my dad.
Now truth be told, my dad and I never had a good or even decent relationship. He was an alcoholic and with that came his alcoholic tendencies.
I won't bore you with the "woe me" details.
On his death bed my sisters and I nursed him until it was time for him to move on. During that period of time, he was no longer drinking and an awesome person emerged filled with wonderful wisdom.
I remember the day when the bubble I was living in popped, and oh man am I happy it did!
I was laying with dad on his bed and he woke up, looked at me and out of the blue said:
“Wow it happened so fast”
At first, I didn’t understand what he meant as he was always kind of in and out of things, but he continued..
“Kim, my life has happened so fast, it’s done!”
I’m not sure what happened in that moment but something shifted. This was more than a reality check, more than a change in perspective. Everything became clear, and in that moment I swore to myself that each day I would pursue my dreams and live the life I want to live. Not the life society tells me I have to live. Not only dreaming of what could be, but making it happen.
I realized in that moment THIS is it. This is not the dress rehearsal, this is my life and I’m going to make sure I love it.
I began to pursue my life with the mentality that 'NO MATTER WHAT', no matter how scared I am, or what people say, I do my life my way..
..taking steps towards what makes me happy. And with that energetic shift in my mentality, things began to quickly change.
Life is a progression. There is no finish line. So why not just
enjoy the ride, smile and know that it is all okay.
YOU, in this moment, are exactly where you are suppose to be.
I will discuss more on this in future emails.
But until then check out this awesome video
I found that is so inspiring.
I promise it will put a smile on your face.
