Subject: DAY 5: Gratitude - Rise Of You 7 Day Challenge

Welcome to Day 5 of the Rise Of You Challenge!

We're so excited to have you here this far into the challenge.  You are AWESOME for making yourself a priority this week!

Are you ready to roll? Cool, let’s get started.

Are you going through a rough patch or is someone causing you stress or making your life more difficult?

If YES, please keep reading because there is something you can do.

You'll find the video here: https://scienceofimagery.clickfunnels.com/7-day-challenge-day-5

If you answered NO, you don't have to but you make like it ;)

When you find yourself becoming negative or blaming others, it is giving you the perfect opportunity to take a moment to look at yourself. If you have a negative thought, think about why you are having the thought.

Is it because of your circumstances or others around you?

Do you have any control over the situation or the people around you?  No, we only have control of ourselves and our thoughts.

Is it helping you to blame others and the situation?  No, but we seem to do it most of the time. I know I catch myself doing it sometimes and it just leads to more negative thoughts and I bring more negative situations to myself.

However, the GOOD news is, there is something we can do about it that doesn't take much effort and you can start doing right now!

GRATITUDE!!! If we start being more grateful we will very quickly start seeing major changes in our life. An exercise that helps me be more grateful is listing 10 things that I'm grateful for.  This can be anything, people, places, objects, future projects, really anything.

When I list these items, the exercise is much more useful if I really feel grateful for each item. For example, I think about something I love, usually my two dogs.  When I think about them, there is a feeling that I get within my body. I then take a moment to really feel that sensation and be grateful for that sensation.  At that point I go to the first item on my list and feel that same level of gratitude for that item.

I've found this to have the greatest impact on how my day goes.  If I start my day this way I'm more productive during the day and I seem to accomplish all of my goals for that day. This easy exercise can help you change your thoughts and energy very quickly so the next time you find yourself having negative thoughts try using this exercise and see what type of results you get.

Gratitude Exercise:
  • First, write down 10 things you are grateful for.
  • Next, find as quiet a place as you can, and just settle into your own space for 5 minutes.
  • Now, ask for guidance for the day. You can ask yourself, a higher power, or just offer the request as a general thought. After this, send love to anyone you have difficulties with, including those people with whom you may be experiencing any emotional pain.
  • If you do these simple steps every day it will completely change your attitude, and your Attitude is what orients you toward the fulfillment of your fondest wishes. A simple shift is all it takes!
Also, here is a slight variation to that exercise that might help if you have any trouble finding things that you are grateful for.
If you start thinking of things that you are grateful for but draw a blank or you don't have the deep feeling of gratitude, I think these extra steps can be a big help.
  • Don't just go through the motions: Journaling can be very effective if you first make the conscious decision to become happier and more grateful.
  • Go for depth over breadth: Elaborating in detail about a particular thing for which you're grateful carries more benefits than a superficial list of many things.
  • Get personal: Focusing on people to whom you are grateful has more of an impact than focusing on things for which you are grateful.
  • Try subtraction, not just addition: One effective way of stimulating gratitude is to reflect on what your life would be like without certain blessings, rather than just tallying up all those good things.
  • Savor surprises: Try to record events that were unexpected or surprising, as these tend to elicit stronger levels of gratitude.
So try incorporating one of these at a time in your gratitude exercise to switch things up and get a different experience and perspective.
