Subject: [Mastermind] DYS 3 LIVE SESSION #2 - Clinic Video: Integration

Hello,

Here is the Live Group Session #2 video replay.

Following the last group session video introducing the concept of integration, which I hope resonated in places with things you have perhaps noticed in small or significant ways, here is the video footage from my clinic session with Shady - from the stillshot walkthrough from Session 5 in the on-line course.

You may remember the chestnut mare, Shady, who swung around with teeth bared if you stood in her left eye and presented the bridle. Well, here is the footage that shows how I use her capacity to integrate, grow a little on a mental/emotional level, and come back to engage more in the process - over and over until we came together in a place that "fit" her and she picked up the bit softly.

I'd be interested to know what you see in this video.

It was an amazing experience to work with this horse, who had a deep willingness to want rid of this angst as much as I wanted that for her - a strong sense I got from her as she chose to keep her head with me, simultaneously chomping her teeth at me. Very troubled indeed. It is not obvious on the video that she in fact chose to keep her head around like that for quite some time in this fashion repeatedly. She wanted to work through to the other side, I would say.

I have found this to be consistently true, with horses that seem very troubled - they want to be free of their angst and if we can "fit" them somehow and support that "integration" moment, rather amazing things happen that do not relate to incentive-based learning in the traditional sense.

Enjoy! And do email me (reply to this email) your comments, feedback and questions.

To you and your horse,

Karen
