Competitions use to scare me. Yes, they scared me, so what?

At the same time competitions are mostly a waste of time in the reward sense. The real benefit I see is that it builds character and confidence. Always enter a competition ready to battle and put up a good fight. It also helps with the fear of failure and embarrassment.

As a kid my mindset was to avoid the chance of failure and embarrassment as much as possible. Even though I knew I had the talent to win, the fear was stronger. The fear has diminished over the decades and I've learned to overcome it.

Know I need to overcome my fear of listening to Justin Bieber.
