Guests – who attended in record numbers – represented blue-chip companies and household names, as well as businesses and professional bodies from across the relocation spectrum. Full report below.

Re:locate Awards 2012/13 gala dinner and presentation ceremony attracts record attendance

Re:locate Gala Awards DinnerThe Re:locate Awards 2012/13 Gala Dinner and Presentation Ceremony, held on Thursday 9 May 2013 at London’s Institute of Directors, attracted HR and relocation professionals in record numbers.

In what was also the best year yet for entries to the awards, which have become the ultimate recognition of excellence in all aspects of relocation, both in the UK and internationally, more than 200 guests from across the relocation spectrum – including HR professionals and suppliers – networked the night away as they awaited the announcement of the winners.

What the judges said

The Re:locate Awards 2012/13 saw a continued rise in the standard of entries.

Said Re:locate‘s managing editor, Fiona Murchie, “It’s clear that, when compiling their submissions, many entrants took inspiration from the judges’ comments on previous years’ winners and our series of awards newsletters and webinars.

“This is resulting in a year-on-year rise in standards, which means that – as we always intended – the awards are helping to promote best practice.”

International broadcaster calls on government to “get serious about business and trade internationally”

Stephen ColeWith the UK government struggling to revive a flat-lining economy, respected international broadcaster Stephen Cole offered an informed critique from a global perspective on how it could “increase the scale” of and “create strategy” to boost international trade at the Re:locate Awards in central London on Thursday.

The Re:locate Awards celebrate excellence in global mobility practices. It was therefore fitting that Stephen Cole, senior news anchor at Al Jazeera TV and chair of the Institute of Business and Diplomacy, not only congratulated the winners, but also used their examples to call for more government action and leadership “outside this room” and for it “get serious” about boosting UK trading relations.

Languages Team at International School of London Surrey recognised for Excellence in Employee and Family Support

ISLInternational School of London (ISL) Surrey, Languages Team were thrilled to collect their Re:locate Award for Excellence in Employee and Family Support on Thursday 9th May at the annual black-tie Re:locate Gala Awards Dinner held at London’s Institute of Directors.

In her opening speech at the Awards Dinner, Re:locate managing editor, Fiona Murchie outlined how global growth is gaining momentum in many parts of the world. "Large multinationals are expanding into emerging markets and there are SMES going into new markets around the world. These activities are fuelling economic recovery at different speeds and from different levels of knowledge base."
