A small smiling Ugandan child coloring a giraffe

To brighten your day 😄

Warm greetings from Uganda, Friend,

This sweet child was enjoying the coloring page and crayons that Dana and Kathryn Hiscock brought to The Mustard Seed Nursery School. In Uganda, preschool is referred to as a nursery school, and the youngest learners are typically three-year-olds. Their class is called "Baby Class." The four-year-olds are in "Middle Class," and the fives are in "Top Class." As a member of the Top Class, this adorable child will begin Primary School in February.

It's hard to believe I've only been here a week—the days have been packed! While I've spent most of my time with the older students (more on their special celebrations in future emails!), visits with the younger children like this one are equally encouraging. My smile muscles are sore from overuse across all age groups! It's delightful to connect with these students, whether they're coloring lions with crayons or preparing for their next chapter in life.

I hope this little glimpse into our Uganda adventures brings some sunshine to your Friday!

Elaine
