Not in School—Passing the Time Happy Friday, Friend,
It's term break in Uganda, and many Mustard Seed students are on their own for most of the day.
The children above were hanging out in town, near the market and dump. While their mothers and grandmothers work tirelessly to provide for their families—selling snacks along the highway, washing laundry, or doing whatever work they can find—children often must fend for themselves during the day. In most of these families (85%), there is no father present in the home.
Next week, they'll return to Mustard Seed Academy, where they'll have nutritious meals, caring teachers, and positive male role models.
I'm so grateful you care about these kids like I do. |
