Moving can be stressful for us, and is definitely stressful for our animals. Dogs, cats, birds, and other furry family members can all feel the tension in the air.
They probably understand that something really

is about to happen.
Most of the time, they don't know what that something is. So they listen to your conversations and try to figure it out.
Just as it helps you when you understand what's going on in your life, it helps your animal friends to know what's going on, too.
Whatever happens to you affects them, too.
* Cats face unique problems with a move because they attach their energy to physical locations, as well as to furniture in your home. So when they get to their new home, they are often disoriented for several weeks.
There are specific things you can do to assist your cats with a move, and there are ways to help your other animals, too.
