This year Cambridge Film Festival is AMPLIFY!

Cambridge Film Festival is collaborating with three other UK film festivals to bring you all the great films you expect from the UK's 3rd longest running Film Festival and now online in the comfort of your own home.

The brand new online Film Festival is streaming right through until November 22, but some of the great films are leaving AMPLIFY! soon.

Ending Soon

You have until late Saturday night to catch this absolute gem of a documentary, telling the story of 'Doc' a visionary on a mission to save the worlds last Polaroid factory. An Impossible Project does what great documentaries do, it transcends it's subject and is an object lesson in having an interesting story, a charismatic "lead" and an eye for a beautiful photograph.  It's also funny and heart-warming.

Aalto

Also ending Saturday is Aalto, The fascinating story of Finnish architect Alvar Aalto who holds a unique position amongst his peers, considered one of the great masters of the 20th century. Alvar’s success was directly tied to that of his wife, Aino, who studied alongside him at the Institute of Technology in Helsinki. The Aaltos rose to international fame thanks to projects such as the Vyborg Library in Russia. This documentary provides an insight into the couple’s intimate love story and their joint contribution to the world of modernist architecture.

Falling

Available until Sunday night is Viggo Mortensen's directorial debut, the powerful and personal Falling.

Described by Indiewire as being "as sincere and unusual as you might expect from one of Hollywood's most unclassifiable stars", Falling (which also stars Mortensen) tells the story of Willis Peterson a man who, grappling with dementia, leaves his Midwestern farm to live in California with his gay son, his husband, and their adopted daughter.

A striking central performance from Lance Henriksen has placed him front and centre of the early awards buzz.
