Movies on the Meadows 2018 will include...
DUNKIRK - Filmmaker Christopher Nolan works with an incredible ensemble cast to depict the world war II evacuation of Dunkirk, in what is one of the most powerful war films of all time. With many critics describing DUNKIRK as Nolan’s best work don’t miss the opportunity to experience this true epic outdoors on the big screen.
COCO - Winner of the 2017 Best Animated Feature Oscar, COCO is the story of 12-year-old boy Miguel Rivera who is accidentally transported to the land of the dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living. Truly Pixar back to their multi award winning best!
JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE - Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, leads an all star cast in this reboot/sequel to the 1995 Robin Williams original. Four high school kids discover an old video game and are drawn into the game's jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose.  To return to the real world, they'll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, and discover what Alan Parrish left 20 years ago, or they'll be stuck in the game forever.
ISLE OF DOGS - Once again working with an incredible ensemble cast which includes Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Jeff Goldblum, and Cambridge Film Festival friend Tilda Swinton. Wes Anderson is at his quirky, deadpan best with ISLE OF DOG. Set in a dystopian near-future Japan the film follows a young boy who goes in search of his beloved dog Spots after the whole species is banished to an island due to an illness outbreak.
THE GREATEST SHOWMAN - Hugh Jackman leads an all-star cast in this bold and original musical filled with infectious show stopping performances that will bring you to your feet.
Inspired by the story of P.T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman), the film follows the visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. THE GREATEST SHOWMAN has defied the critics to become one of the biggest hits of the Year!
PADDINGTON 2 - A rare example of a sequel that may well be even better than its predecessor! Paddington 2 tells the continuing story of everyone's favourite marmalade sandwich eating bear, Paddington. Now happily settled with the Brown family and a popular member of the local community, Paddington picks up a series of odd jobs to buy the perfect present for his Aunt Lucy's 100th birthday, only for the gift to be stolen!
MARY AND THE WITCH'S FLOWER - The wonderful first feature from Studio Ghibli spin off, Studio Ponoc, MARY AND THE WITCH’S FLOWER tells the story of Mary who, while spending the last weeks of summer with her Great-Aunt Charlotte in the countryside, follows a mysterious cat into the nearby woods. There she stumbles upon a flower that has magical powers and transforms a little broomstick into one that flies. Mary is whisked away, high above the clouds, and transported to Endor College – a school of magic!
DUEL - The 1971 directorial feature debut of Steven Spielberg, DUEL stars Dennis Weaver as a terrified motorist driving a Plymouth Valiant who is stalked upon remote and lonely California canyon roads by the mostly unseen driver of an unkempt 1960 Peterbilt 281 tanker truck. Don’t miss this rare chance to see a great thriller which loses none of its power and tension even almost 50 years after its initial release.
AND STILL MORE TO COME!
