Your Cambridge Film Festival Update

Welcome to your monthly round-up from Cambridge Film Festival! February has been packed with fantastic events, and March is shaping up to be even more exciting. Here’s everything you need to know...

Community Highlights And Festival Success

We had a brilliant February half-term, with two sold-out events that brought our community together through film.

Families joined us at the Meadows Community Centre for a lively afternoon of free arts and crafts, followed by a screening of A SHAUN THE SHEEP MOVIE: FARMAGEDDON. The event quickly booked up (sorry if you missed out), and it was wonderful to see the room packed with young audiences discovering the joy of watching films together.

Meanwhile, our Youth Lab hosted a sold-out screening of Festival favourite THE FISHERMAN, winner of the Youth Lab Jury Award at the 44th Cambridge Film Festival. The event celebrated the curiosity and insight of our young programmers while welcoming audiences eager to revisit a standout film from the Festival.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your enthusiasm keeps our community thriving.

As well as bringing cinema to you year-round, we’re thrilled to celebrate the continued success of films featured at CFF in October.

HAMNET was a standout at this year’s British Academy Film Awards, taking home Best British Film and Best Actress for Jessie Buckley. We love seeing CFF films making waves on the national and international stage.

We are looking forward to seeing what the Oscars may bring!

Become a CFF Reviewer

Would you like to help shape the programme for the next Cambridge Film Festival?

We are looking for volunteer reviewers to watch and assess film submissions for CFF45, with reviewing beginning in April. It is a great opportunity to discover new filmmakers, watch exciting work from across the world and contribute directly to the selection process.

Reviewers play an important role in the festival. Each year, thousands of films are submitted, and our volunteer team helps identify the stories and voices that will make up the final programme. Along the way, you will gain insight into how a festival is curated and how films move from submission to the big screen.

No previous reviewing experience is required. What matters most is curiosity, reliability and a genuine interest in cinema.

If you would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you.
