Pierogi or Bust (Part 2)

Just a reminder to those who signed up (paid) for the 2025 Bus Trip to Pierogi Fest (Whiting, IN) that your contribution has already been refunded from our side. If you don't see any credit on your end, please check your statements for something around the beginning of July to see the return. Refunds were issued on June 30th.

Anyone who filled out the 2025 Bus Trip Feedback Form or Speak Out Online on or before July 15th will be sent their respective gift later this week. These items will be sent via Pony Express and may take a few days to arrive in your mailbox.

Didn't send the feedback yet? No problem... You have until July 30th to provide Feedback about the 2025 Bus Trip in order to claim your Prize Pack for those who signed up or something else if you just heard about the event somewhere. The full breakdown can be found in the June 30th, 2025 edition of the Polonia Biuletyn.

Honoring Our Veterans

This edition of the Polonia Gazeta falls on a very special occasion.

We would like to mention that one of our long-time loyal readers. John P. Kritzer is turning 94 today! John is a Korean War Veteran (1950-51) that was hit by machine gun fire, which earned him a Purple Heart, during his service with the 1st Cavalry Division in the U.S. Army. Afterwards he switched to the Navy and became part of the Military Police Squadron to finish his tour. After the war he joined Local 73 Union to become a Sheet Metal Worker. John is currently retired and enjoys spending time with his family and playing bingo with his friends at the Hines VA Hospital. We wish John a very Happy Birthday and thank him for his service.

Tee Off for Veterans

The event will be held on Monday, August 18th, 2025 at the Schaumburg Golf Course. Cost is $180 per golfer for the entire package deal or $50 for the luncheon only. To learn more about this event, please visit the Friends of Fisher House webpage.

The Good Word

Just passing on a word of "Thanks" from Marc to all of those who wished him a Happy Birthday in the middle of your Speak Out Online submissions. Those who participate will be sent their own Birthday Postcard in the mail later this month.

Taste of Polonia

For those who are interested in having some fun in August, we are offering a chance to take a shuttle from Sawa's Old Warsaw to the Taste of Polonia on Sunday, August 31st. We can take 50 people with no problem using a Coach Bus. Cost per person would be $45 for the round trip and gives you around 5 or 6 hours to attend the festival. If you think that sounds like a good deal, then please email Marc to say how many would be going in your party. Again, we can only reserve the bus if we have a certain amount of people going. We will take emails between now and the end of July and let you know in August if we have enough interest. Happy Pierogi.
