We rejoice that Amer is able to feed her children. However, we remain deeply concerned for our communities in eastern Africa where the peak of Coronavirus has not yet passed and accessible health care is dangerously limited. Additionally, in these regions of extreme poverty that rely on the day to day of a cash economy, one day lost at the market could quickly translate to no meals on the table.
The work of Five Talents is more important than ever now and your partnership is at the heart of our work. We can and will help to re-ignite these fragile local economies so that those living in the poorest communities can cope through this crisis and face the future with hope.
One of our local trainers tells us she is preparing for a significant increase in the demand to form new savings groups in her region as people see their neighbors’ businesses bouncing back faster as a result of their belonging to a Five Talents Group.
Additionally, because biblical principles are taught in our business training, members learn how their business can bless their community. Even in the current times, we are hearing how groups are pooling their funds to support their sick neighbors, collecting food to give to those living in more isolated communities.
We train our members to plan ahead for their business - and in that spirit, we ask you to consider a special gift this month to Five Talents to help us plan ahead.
Your support right now will help us wisely steward and forecast our programs and expenses to make a lasting impact. As one of our most faithful supporters, would you consider making a special gift this month?
We ask this knowing that some of our partners are facing financial challenges and have to make difficult decisions about their giving. Whatever the amount, every gift makes a difference that uplifts men, women, and children living in dire circumstances.
In a time where so much of our activities have been limited this is something you can act on today at www.fivetalents.org/donate. Thank you for your prayerful kind consideration.
With heartfelt gratitude,
