Subject: Donuts Gave Her a Voice…

Dear Friend,

What does it mean to have a voice... to have influence... to have resources? On the flip side, can you imagine how it would feel to not have these?

Cristabel is a single mother of six children from Burundi who makes and sells donuts to support her family. She is part of a Five Talents Savings Group where she learned how to save money, how to start her donut business and how to dream of a better life.

“I am able to think of new ideas and do them! When you are empowered economically, you have a voice.”

The profit from selling donuts covers her children’s school fees. She has also saved enough to buy cows, sheep and pigs. This is a huge accomplishment for a Burundian woman. Cristabel shared that she used to feel hopeless about living in poverty. But now she sees how she was able to overcome her own poverty.

“I can take care of my family even as a widow and I can contribute to others who are struggling.”

Cristabel was able to find her voice. As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, I am grateful for the ways you have empowered thousands of women like Cristabel. Giving Tuesday is almost here and we would be grateful if you would join Five Talents to inspire others to give a voice to those living in extreme poverty. Here are three simple but impactful ways you can help:

  1. SAVE THE DATE! Giving Tuesday is November 30. 2021. Mark your calendar today.

  2. Spread the word. Share Cristabel’s story with your friends and family. Forward this email to them. Share the graphic below on social media and tag Five Talents.

  3. Give. On November 30th , go to fivetalents.org/give. All gifts will be matched up to $100,000! Double the impact of your generosity.

Thank you for being a part of this mission. We could not do this work without you!
