Dear friend,

My daily reading this morning was by John Wesley: Humility and patience are the surest proofs of the increase of love.  

The first thing this made me think about is how I could use some more humility and patience. 

Then I thought about our program members that I’ve had the opportunity to visit in Myanmar and Burundi and Bolivia, in South Sudan and Tanzania and Kenya. They demonstrated a lot of humility and incredible patience in the face of so many challenges. 

It’s hard to imagine what it would be like to start each day with no electricity and no running water, no heat or air conditioning regardless of the weather. Yet these people always greeted us with big smiles, and often with singing and dancing and the playing of tambourines. 

I am forever grateful for the lessons these Five Talents partners worldwide have taught me.
