Subject: Real-Life Action-Man Military Fitness

Hi Friend,

It’s a life or death situation when you’re dodging bullets in a perilous war zone. You need your wits about you in addition to an unwavering focus and steely resolve.

Your chances of survival also take a significant leap if you’re fit and strong — which is why real-life action-man Nate Morrison turns to one training tool in particular to get the job done.

Action Man

For those that don’t know, SSgt Nate Morrison has been a member of USAF Pararescue. This military man is a veteran of Operation Northern Watch, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and several other contingency operations worldwide.

Nate was one of the first individuals to spot the benefits of kettlebell training and its application to the field of strength and conditioning. Recognising the short-falls of typical old-school PT methods, Nate was the most vocal in the US in applying specific preparation to address the special needs and demands of the tactical athlete.

Aware these antiquated methods were selling his fellow fighting men short, Nate made it his mission to find a better way.

Enter kettlebell training.

But what was so wrong with the old ways of keeping fit?

Nate argues that the demands of modern warfare don’t match the training. He says, “Bodyweight drills are fine if you are not strapping 100lbs of gear to your body. Moreover, bodyweight drills do a poor job of strengthening the posterior chain, which is absolutely essential for anyone carrying weight. Therefore, the requirement exists for soldiers to exercise with weights to maintain strength and stamina for the upcoming battle…”

For sure, the demands of the modern day soldier has changed; which is why kettlebell training is the right answer for today’s military.

Capable of training all the physical traits required of a soldier, kettlebell lifting builds strength, endurance, coordination, agility, along with core strength.

In summary, Nate has this to add: “No other system even comes close to matching the training loads and volume, thus kettlebell lifting builds greater strength and endurance.”

But how does any of this help you?

Well, this type of training isn’t just for the military action-man — ordinary guys and gals can benefit from kettlebell workouts, too.
