From the Executive Director's Corner
As the new school year begins, it is an opportune moment for us to focus our attention on sharing resources and tools that can help support you in delivering quality, effective personal finance education. As more states and school districts begin to adopt curriculum standards that include personal finance requirements, there is a growing need for comprehensive, engaging, and accessible resources.

At the AFSA Education Foundation, we are dedicated to supporting your financial education efforts with a range of free materials, including our MoneySKILL program and corresponding Reality Check simulation, as well as informational brochures, classroom resources, and worksheets on a variety of topics.

We encourage you to explore these resources if you haven’t yet done so and also to share with your colleagues. Even forwarding this newsletter to a fellow educator or parent is a simple yet impactful way to help us spread the word and ensure that the AFSA Education Foundation’s resources reach a broader audience.

Lastly, I want to remind you that our annual MoneySKILL Instructor satisfaction survey is still open if you would like to submit feedback here. We take your responses and comments seriously and they are a significant factor in our future planning efforts.

As always, thank you for all you do to promote financial education and please read on for more updates and announcements.

Sincerely,

Rhonda Ashburn
Executive Director
AFSA Education Foundation

Ask MoneySKILL!
Do you have any additional videos or classroom activities that I can use alongside MoneySKILL?

Yes. We have developed a couple of different resources to support the MoneySKILL curriculum, including a listing of vetted personal finance videos and a 40-page supplemental guide with free digital activities, worksheets, and lessons that all support the learning objectives within MoneySKILL. You can find links to these materials in the “Resources” section of your MoneySKILL dashboard.
I would like to enroll a new group of students into a MoneySKILL course that I created last year – how can I do that?

When you log in to your MoneySKILL dashboard, you will see a “Recreate” link at the bottom of any class that you have previously established. Clicking on the “Recreate” link will allow you to copy all of your prior class settings over to a new class and enroll a new group of students.
Can MoneySKILL be used for after-school programs or extracurricular activities?

Absolutely! MoneySKILL is versatile and can be adapted for use in after-school programs or other extracurricular activities. You can select specific modules that fit your program’s focus and integrate or assign them accordingly.
