From the Executive Director's Corner |
|
As many of you are transitioning into summer break, The AFSA Education Foundation team is hard at work conducting annual updates to the MoneySKILL curriculum, planning for new resources, and gearing up for the next school year. We want to extend our sincere gratitude for your dedication and hard work in promoting financial education with your learners – thousands of new students are enrolled in MoneySKILL each year as a result of your efforts.
As in previous years, we are seeking your input! Instructor feedback plays a significant role in how we plan for the future of MoneySKILL, and we want to hear from you. If you can, please take a few minutes to complete our 2024 MoneySKILL Instructor Satisfaction Survey here. For those who complete the survey by Wednesday, July 31, you will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of three MoneySKILL-branded 30 oz YETI travel mugs!
Thank you again for all that you do, and please read on for more updates and a special opportunity from the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Ashburn Executive Director AFSA Education Foundation

Calling all high school teachers!
In April, high school teachers across the country marked Financial Literacy Month by taking their students into local elementary schools to teach their younger counterparts about money as a part of Jump$tart’s Teen Teach-In initiative.
If you missed it in April, don’t worry—we’re holding another round of Teen Teach-In events in October, and we’d love to have you join us!
Teen Teach-Ins are a great way for high school students to demonstrate what they’ve learned in their personal finance classes to their younger peers, while drawing attention to the need for effective financial education in our nation’s classrooms. The accompanying earned and social media also provides some well-deserved recognition to participating high school teachers.
Want to know more? Click here for additional details about the Jump$tart Teen Teach-In or contact Joel Chrisler (joel.chrisler@jumpstart.org) if you have any questions or are ready to sign up.

|
If a student retakes a module and gets a lower quiz grade than their first attempt, which score is displayed in the gradebook?
The highest quiz score that a student earns on a module will be retained in the gradebook.

Can I use the same MoneySKILL class with a new roster of students?
Yes. When you log in to your MoneySKILL dashboard, you will be able to see a “tile” view of all your previous MoneySKILL classes. Each listing will have a “Recreate” link that you select to duplicate the class and add a new roster of students as well as start and end dates.
