Sue Adair, RN

Meet the founder of Thrive 55+ Nursing Advantage. After 28 years as a registered nurse, Sue experienced firsthand how demanding, long-term nursing work can push experienced nurses away from the bedside, not because they have nothing left to give, but because the work no longer fits their changing capacity.

She built Thrive 55+ to help nurses aged 55 and older name what's changed in their work capacity and chart a next step with dignity and clarity.

A Note From Nena

Hi Nurses,

There’s something about this time of year that naturally feels like a reset.

The rush of summer starts to settle, routines begin to return, and for many business owners, it’s a chance to finally look up from the day-to-day and ask: Where am I going next?

Entrepreneurship isn’t always about making the biggest move or having the busiest month. Sometimes the most important work happens in the quieter seasons. This is the time spent refining an offer, reconnecting with your goals, following up on an idea you’ve been sitting on, or finally tackling the part of your business you keep putting off.

If things feel a little slower right now, use it.

Look at what’s working. Be willing to admit what isn’t. Reach back out to the person you meant to follow up with. Revisit the goal you wrote down months ago. Make the plan for the rest of the year instead of waiting for January to start thinking about what comes next.

And remember, you don’t have to have every piece figured out before you move forward. Most businesses are built one decision, one connection, and one opportunity at a time.

Whatever season your business is in right now, keep going. There is still plenty of year left to build something you're proud of.

I’m always proud to be part of a community of nurses who are willing to bet on themselves, create new opportunities, and build careers and businesses on their own terms.

With gratitude,

Nena

A slow month isn't a failed month. It's a planning month!

Don't let it pass you by. Strategic nurses use the quiet stretches to strengthen what's already working, not scramble to fill the gap.

Here's how to make the most of it:

  • Update your offers, pricing, or website copy

  • Reach out to past clients, check in, ask for referrals

  • Create the resource or workshop you've been putting off

  • Set one clear goal for the next quarter

Use the quiet, and come back stronger!

Program begins end of this month! The S.C.A.R.S. Trauma Recovery Program is an 8-week intensive healing journey built by those who've lived it, for those still carrying it.

Through live weekly Zoom sessions, a personal 1:1 coaching call, and a transformative 2-day in-person Wellness Weekend Retreat. You'll move through what's been holding you back and arrive at a place of deep healing and lasting peace of mind. Gain a Certificate of Completion and trauma-informed tools for work, home, and on the go. Limited to 10 participants.
