NNBA Membership Directory Now on Website Important news regarding changes to www.nnbanow.com. During NNBA's 2014 Conference I asked the group if they would like the NNBA Member’s Directory viewable to website visitors. The majority voted Yes! Until now, only NNBA Members could see information on other members. We have now published the viewable NNBA Membership Directory and with respect to those nurses that do not wish to be listed, we have check boxes when you log in to your My Account Profile area that can be used to indicate your preference. We are driven to provide more value for our members and this directory allows visitors to learn more about our Nurse Entrepreneurs! |

| Help Stop Healthcare Violence Sheila Wilson R.N.BSN MPH and President of Stop Healthcare Violence reached out to me and asked that I share with our MA. NNBA Members about supporting HB #1164, which would change the law in MA. from a misdemeanor to a felony if assaulting healthcare providers. I wanted to share with all of you because we need to be serious and send a clear message about protecting the nurses who make it their life's work to protect others. Please share with those you know in Massachusetts to support this Bill.

If you are a nurse business owner; exhibiting, sponsorship and marketing opportunities are found here https://nnbanow.com/nnba-conference-2015/.Secret to Success You’ve heard me say, that the secret to success is that it is no secret! Success leaves tracks and provides roadmaps for those nurses willing to travel the less traveled road. Dr. Renee Thompson and I recently met with a group of nurses that were interested in learning about how they could use their wealth of experience in a business setting. I have some pictures posted on NNBA's Facebook page. Success is simply following a proven system and while I say it is simple, I did not say it was easy. That’s why I chose the picture of the iceberg illusion below. Don’t compare yourself to someone else’s highlight reel. If fact, rid yourself of comparisons all together and just run your race. I hope you will race to be with us in Las Vegas! |

| If there’s one clear trend that has emerged as we compiled the 2015 Brilliant 100, it’s that everyone—especially young adults—wants to keep tabs on everything.Millennials are driving technology and commerce in an altruistic direction that melds personal responsibility (for one’s health and well-being, as well as that of employees and customers) with social responsibility (for the global community, planet and big-picture economy). |

This job advice is so rarely taken it deserves repeating: “Tell people what you want, and then go out and get it,” Eileen McDonnell, the CEO of Fortune 1000 insurance firm Penn Mutual, told The Huffington Post. McDonnell said she’s surprised by how few men and women ask for what they want in their careers. "So many people complain they haven’t gotten anywhere but they haven’t taken the lead."

A client of mine recently discovered an exciting position and immediately said to me, "I want to apply for this."
We worked together to polish up her resume, pull together a cover letter, and come up with a set of strong responses to frequently asked interview questions. But as we moved along through the process, I sensed her initial excitement waning. She seemed nervous, quiet, and hesitant about taking the next steps. Something was "off."

| | | Elizabeth Scala MSN/MBA, RN The problem today is that there are so many nurses out there who wake up one day to realize that the way they practice nursing is not how they envisioned it to be. Bestselling author and virtual conference host, Elizabeth Scala, MSN/MBA, RN, works with hospitals, nurse associations, and nursing schools to help nursing staff and students reconnect to the nurse within. Elizabeth’s work re-energizes nurses, inspiring and transforming them to reach the career shifts that they so dream of. Elizabeth is also a Reiki Master Teacher and Certified Coach. When Elizabeth’s not speaking to or teaching other nurses you can find her practicing Yoga, playing in nature, or dancing to her favorite jam band, moe. Find out more about Elizabeth at: |
