Marketing: The Seven Musts of Marketing
Chet Holmes book, The Ultimate Sales Machine was voted one of the best books of the year when it was published in 2007. I have read and re-read it numerous times. Businesses must be sales machines to remain in business and Chet offers 12 Key Strategies that will turbocharge your business. This strategy is his seven musts of marketing:
  1. Advertising
  2. Direct Mail
  3. Business literature: brochures and promotional pieces
  4. Public Relations
  5. Personal contact: sales people and customer service
  6. Market education: trade shows, speaking engagements, and education based marketing
  7. Internet: websites, email efforts, social media and affiliate marketing
Small businesses may not be able to do them all so you have to pick and choose the ones that will give you the greatest impact for the least money. However, all seven, consistently applied helps you remain competitive, relevant and open for business!
