Dear Nurses,

In his mega bestseller, “Awaken the Giant Within” Tony Robbins writes, “quality questions create a quality life.” He elaborates that people succeed by making decisions that control their destiny by asking quality questions. I've really come around to understanding that asking better questions gives me better results. If you want to take your life to the next level, one of the most neglected places to look is the sort of questions you ask yourself today. There is a variety of high-quality questions in two of our articles of interest below. These type questions will help direct your focus, energy, and intention.

It is always an honor when I am asked to be interviewed and speak about Nurse Entrepreneurship. I love sharing qualities of nurses and how nurses are well-suited to entrepreneurship. I shared with the interviewer from Daily Nurse that he made the experience seamless and enjoyable. He commented how he was married to a nurse entrepreneur and we both said nurses make great business owners! You can check out that interview below.

Finding Success as a Nurse Entrepreneur

Daily Nurse
Adaptability, organization, and communication are among the skills you bring to patient care every day and are some of the same qualities that can help you succeed away from the hospital as a nurse entrepreneur.

Nurses have a variety of traits that qualify them for an entrepreneurial path. For one thing, “nurses are the best problem solvers, and that’s a quality that will take them quite far regardless of their setting,” says Michelle Podlesni, RN, president of the National Nurses in Business Association (NNBA), said to be the only nursing organization dedicated to nursing entrepreneurs.

“Nurses have a lot of qualities very similar to what entrepreneur qualities are across the board,” said Podlesni during an interview. Podlesni has compared the traits of RNs and the characteristics of entrepreneurs. She says nurses have excellent communication skills, can prioritize, know how to organize, and are adaptable. In addition, they have sound judgment, dedication, and a commitment to continuing education.

7 Questions to Strengthen Your Leadership

The quality of your questions determines the quality of your thinking. And when I started thinking about how I could grow my business, these were some of the questions I asked myself:

How can I begin to replace myself?
How can I get out of the truck?

The questions weren't easy to answer, but they transformed my leadership on a whole new level. Here are seven tough questions for your new year planning:

1. Am I becoming the best version of myself?

Most people make up excuses for why they aren't succeeding or taking action. Or they hang out with people who drag them down rather than lift them up (this applies to business partners and also friends).

Look at yourself in the mirror and be honest:
Are you moving closer to your dreams every single day? Are you working harder and smarter than your competitors?
