Mark Your Calendar:
NNBA 2026 Conference

đź“… Save the Date: July 16–18, 2026
📍The Scottsdale Resort & Spa – Curio Collection by Hilton

Every year, the NNBA conference sparks ideas and connections—but next year in Arizona, we’re going deeper.

Deeper into the strategies that help you move from vision to viable business.

Deeper into workshops that turn your expertise into clear offers and revenue.

Deeper into conversations with mentors and peers who have walked this path and can show you what works.

NNBA 2026 is being designed as more than an event—it’s a working space for nurse entrepreneurs to roll up their sleeves, sharpen their business models, and walk away with an action plan you can put to use the very next week. You’ll find the guidance, collaboration, and confidence that only come from being in a room full of nurses building businesses alongside you.

Put Your Mission on Your Sleeve!

Couldn’t make it to the conference—or forgot to grab a shirt before they sold out? We’ve got you covered. The NNBA T-shirt is more than conference merch—it’s a reminder of what’s possible when nurses step into business. Now available online, but only while supplies last.

A Note From Nena

Hi Nurses,

Every time I look at what’s happening in the NNBA community, I’m reminded of why we exist: to give nurses the tools, clarity, and support to build businesses that truly last.

This month’s newsletter highlights exactly that — how to validate your ideas, how to build resilience into your business so burnout doesn’t follow you into entrepreneurship, and how to pause long enough to ask, “Which path really fits me best?” (Yes, we’ve included a quick quiz that might surprise you!).

I’m especially inspired by members who have turned their own journeys into ways of helping others thrive. Their stories remind us that when nurses support each other, we all move forward.

No matter where you are — still dreaming, just starting, or scaling up — you are not doing this alone. NNBA is here to walk beside you, and together, we are creating businesses that not only work but give us the freedom and fulfillment we’ve been looking for.

With love and gratitude,

Nena

With a heart for healing and a gift for helping others feel grounded, Karen turned her experience in trauma care and mindfulness into a business that supports both her purpose and her peace.

Building a Resilient Business Around Burnout

Burnout isn’t just a workplace issue—it can follow nurses into entrepreneurship if it’s not addressed head-on. The difference is that as business owners, we have the power to design structures that protect our energy instead of depleting it.

Here are a few ways to build resilience into your business from the start:

  1. Set boundaries early. Decide your working hours and communication limits, and honor them as much as you would a clinical schedule.

  2. Prioritize services that energize you. Choose offers and clients that align with your strengths, not just what’s “marketable.”

  3. Systematize repetitive tasks. Automations and templates free up your bandwidth for higher-value work.

  4. Build support into your model. Community, mentorship, or a small team helps carry the load and prevents isolation.

A resilient business isn’t about pushing harder—it’s about creating a model that sustains your health, your energy, and your vision long term.

Lessons from a Nurse Coach:
Deanna Boyce on Getting the Support You Deserve

After more than 23 years as a nurse manager, Deanna Boyce created Coaching PRN to support nurses in combating stress, reclaiming satisfaction, and—most importantly—avoiding burnout.

In her recent post, Burnout is Real—But So is the Support You Deserve! she highlights:

  • Burnout recovery and resilience building â€” learning to set boundaries instead of breaking under pressure.

  • Career clarity and confidence â€” mapping a path forward that feels aligned with your life right now.

  • Accountability with compassion â€” having someone in your corner to help you take real steps toward change.

These strategies remind us that while burnout is real, so is the support nurses deserve.
