Is this your 'slingshot' moment?
presented by LaShatá Grayson

Imagine life is like a target. Sometimes you practice for a perfect hit and end up missing the target unexpectedly. This past year has been a whole lot of things. And many of us are struggling. What if we are being pulled back to be propelled forward? Like the tension in a slingshot, what if your setback is only setting you up for a comeback. In this session, we’ll recall our most recent “slingshot moments” and reflect on how they’ve affected our lives. We’ll discuss the importance of belonging and the impact it has on resiliency.

The Friday Keynote is supported by the Circle of Sisterhood.
Saturday Keynote | February 26
Resiliency: R Rated? presented by Dr. Thea Zunick

Resiliency… Scary? Controversial? Intimidating? It doesn't have to be. Being Resilient increases the strength and speed of our response to difficult situations and can have a positive impact on mental health and subjective wellbeing. Dr. Zunick will take you through a compelling story of how you need to #startwithme by reflecting inward and then follow concrete steps to build your Resilience muscles. It’s just a matter of knowing how.

As a result of attending this program, attendees will be able to:
  • Reflect and interpret their own emotions and response to stress
  • Shift the way their brain responds to adversity and change
  • Develop a toolbox full of resilience-building skills
The Saturday Keynote is supported by Rho Lambda.
Closing Keynote | February 26
Face Fears | Become Resilient | Unlock Potential presented by Joze Piranian

Joze Piranian avoided speaking almost entirely because of his debilitating stutter. But after struggling for 25 years, he broke free from his challenges to become a celebrated TEDx speaker and stand-up comedian. Joze now inspires people to turn their fear into action so that they can overcome their “inner stutter” and unlock their true potential. Drawing from his personal journey, Joze Piranian’s program instructs participants how to confront challenges, build unshakeable resilience, defeat the discomfort of learning new skills, and reframe their relationship with fear.
