Welcome Back from the Chairman

As many of us begin another academic year, I first want to say how incredibly honored I am to serve as Chair of the Northeast Greek Leadership Association. Thank you to the Board of Directors for trusting me with this opportunity. NGLA has always felt like home to me, and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. It's the place where students, volunteers, professionals, and partners come together because we all believe in the same thing, that fraternity and sorority life has the power to change lives.

I believe wholeheartedly in our mission, our people, and the impact this community has on students every single day. Every leadership lesson, every friendship, every mentor, every difficult conversation, and every celebration helps shape the fraternal experience into something that lasts a lifetime. That is why the work we do matters. Whether you're advising a chapter, volunteering at the conference, mentoring a student leader, or cheering someone on from the sidelines, you are helping create experiences that students will carry with them long after graduation.

This year, our Board is focused on making NGLA the very best it can be. That means strengthening our foundation, growing our association responsibly, and continuing to create opportunities that serve our members and elevate the fraternity and sorority experience throughout the Northeast. I couldn't be more excited about the future because I truly believe we have the best volunteers in the world. Your passion, creativity, and willingness to give your time are what make this association so special, and I can't wait to see what we'll accomplish together this year.

Thank you for believing in NGLA and for investing in our students, our campuses, and one another. I'm looking forward to seeing familiar faces, welcoming new ones, and celebrating everything that makes our region so special when we gather in Boston this February. Until then, I wish you all the best as you begin the year, and I can't wait to continue this journey together.

Student Staff Application Opens September 1

Join the NGLA Student Staff Team to support operations!

The NGLA Annual Conference is run with the support of student volunteers, also known as Student Staff. Student Staff, both undergraduate and graduate, are an integral part of the success of the NGLA Annual Conference. This volunteer role is a great opportunity to develop both as a leader and a professional! Any undergraduate or graduate student that has the desire to be a member of the NGLA Annual Conference team and engage in this unique professional and personal development opportunity is encouraged to apply!

Call for Programs Applications Closes

Applications are due Monday, September 14 at 11:59pm ET.

Program notifications will be sent early November. Presenters may complete more than one 2027 NGLA Annual Conference Educational Program Application. Presenters for the NGLA Annual Conference are required to register for the event. Discounted multi-day speaker registration or one-day registration is available.

Thank You, Nicole!

NGLA extends its great appreciation to outgoing Chairman, Nicole Cronenwett.

Nicole has dedicated five of six years of volunteer service to the NGLA Board of Directors Executive Committee and will continue her service as a board member.

Nicole shares, “I am thankful for this time of service as the Chairman for NGLA. During the past year, we have enhanced and advanced our board structure and strategic direction and strengthened the position of the Association to more greatly support and educate our FSL communities. I look forward to seeing how these efforts and the work of our newly elected executive officers positively impact our membership. My excitement for the future of NGLA has never been higher, and I am ready to continue giving back to this Association I so deeply appreciate."

Employee Update

NGLA is excited to share that Audra S. Dwan accepted our offer to serve as the inaugural Program Manager.

Audra first joined the NGLA community as our Virtual Assistant in 2017 before transitioning to the Operations Manager in 2019. During her tenure, Audra has been a vital contributor to the Association's programs and initiatives, including the NGLA Annual Conference. As Audra approaches her tenth year with NGLA, we're excited to see her step into this new role.

Audra shares, "Partnering with NGLA has been such a rewarding experience, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the inaugural Program Manager. I truly appreciate the Board's confidence in me to support the Association through this transition and trust to lead our Volunteer Team. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our tenth year working together than by supporting the NGLA Annual Conference shipping up to Boston for the first time!"
