Kimps Hardware continues to grow, thrive with emphasis on family, customer service
GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE

ASHWAUBENON -- In last week’s column, Eric Paulson talked about his experiences working for and owning Paulson Hardware in Ashwaubenon, a family business that was established in 1955.

The new owner of Paulson Hardware, Kimps Hardware, with locations in Howard and now Ashwaubenon, has a similar and even longer history. That business was established in 1940 by Bernard Kimps and his wife, Luella.

Craig Kimps, their grandson, joined the business in 1982 and worked with his parents, Gary and Sally. Times have changed greatly since his granddad picked up merchandise for the store from the train depot, but the business has responded to change. Growth, both in sales and reputation, has been solid and steady...

SHEBOYGAN SUN

SHEBOYGAN – Millie’s Deli is bringing New York-style sandwiches, authentic Brooklyn cheesecake and a cool, relaxed vibe to their new location at 522 S. Pier Dr. on Sheboygan’s riverfront. The location is the second for Millie’s, which opened its first restaurant in Kiel.

New York-native Nicholas Conway wanted to create both an authentic New York experience by using items from New York, while at the same time, supporting local food producers. He also wanted to create an eclectic and fun environment where people would feel at home.

“We just wanted a comfortable environment for people to come hang out, have an awesome sandwich and just be able to chill. It’s just a fun place for anyone to come and have something to eat,” said Conway...

GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE

Starz Barber & Beauty, with locations at 755 Mike McCarthy Way and 739 Diane St., started offering appointments at St. Norbert College during the fall semester. The barbershop partnered with the college to start coming to campus during the spring in 2020, but pushed its start date back because of the pandemic.

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay also wanted to create more amenities on campus that would support students of color, so it partnered with Starz this year, said Corey King, the university's vice chancellor for university inclusivity & student affairs. The university had a soft opening for the barbershop this semester and will open up more appointments in the spring...

Green Bay Area Mom continues to grow, joins Chamber
PRESS TIMES

GREEN BAY – What started five years ago as an outlet for an area mom has grown to be a go-to parenting resource spot in the Green Bay and Appleton areas.

Green Bay Area Mom, formerly Green Bay Area Moms Blog, an online parent networking community, was founded in 2016 by Ruth Fameree as a blog, after she said she realized there was a void for groups for parents in the area.

Fameree passed the torch to another local mom, Amanda Lawniczak, who became the new owner in 2019.

Lawniczak said running a business was new to her, but knew it was up to her to make an impact in her community for other moms just like her....
