From creating, selling native beadwork, Skenandore expands to presentations on Oneida culture
GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE

Eliza Skenandore might have grown up on the Oneida reservation, but she says it was years before she came to truly appreciate the culture of the Oneidas.

“I went through the Oneida school system all the way from kindergarten to 12th grade,” she said. “But it was when I was working at NWTC and surrounded by that culture that I felt like something was missing.”

Before taking that job, she had trained as a multi-media tech at ITT Technical College and interned at the Oneida Nation Museum. At the time, the museum was relocating and that gave Skenadore an opportunity to get a close look at all of the displays....

The acupuncturist is focused on helping others and not on making money. After all, he said, he didn't spent 20 years learning to throw it all away...

THE BUSINESS NEWS

ASHWAUBENON – The wait is nearly over.

The much-anticipated opening of Crumbl Cookies in Ashwaubenon – the first in the Green Bay area – is closer to becoming a reality after recent supply-chain issues have been resolved – that’s according to Tom Mabey, director of development for Crumbl Cookies.

“It’s been a process, but it looks like things are finally coming to fruition,” Mabey said of the Utah-based cookie maker’s opening in Ashwaubenon. “Crumbl requires a specific type of oven and mixers, and some of the suppliers haven’t been able to keep up – Crumbl is growing so quickly. We just got word the ovens will be shipping out later this month, so we should be good to go in January.”..

THE BUSINESS NEWS

HOWARD – What started out as a joke between two Green Bay area couples – Danny and Angela Johnson and Andrew Hucek and Jen Chamberlain – recently turned into reality with the opening of The Clubhouse Indoor Golf on Lineville Road in Howard.

“Andy and I were at another golf simulator place in the area, and Andy said to me, ‘I’m thinking about putting a net up in my basement so I can hit golf balls into it,’” Johnson said. “I said to him, ‘That’s okay, but you might be developing bad habits. What you really need is a golf simulator.’”

Johnson said the back-and-forth joking continued over the next few weeks....

With a love of decorating and repurposing goods, Flipse had a dream of opening a store for 10 years. But she said it was never the right time, working full-time and having kids in school and sports.
