NEENAH – On Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 3 – 6 p.m., Multicultural Coalition, Inc. (MCI) will hold a free COVID-19 bivalent booster vaccination event for those 12-years-old and over who have received their primary COVID-19 vaccination series at the Neenah Public Library, located at 240 E. Beacon merger creates Boat House of Door County

DOOR COUNTY -- A collegial relationship in a business-owners group evolved into a friendship and then a partnership that will help a Door County dealership expand its presence and employment.

Beacon Marine this fall merged with The Boat House, a boat sales and service company with locations in eight facilities in Florida and the Milwaukee and Lake Geneva areas. The merger will allow former Beacon owner James Matson to add boat brands, draw upon more expertise from colleagues and build a new showroom along Highway 42 south of Sister Bay, and hire at least three more sales and service employees...

Oshkosh tourism unveils new branding that encourages exploration

OSHKOSH — Wagner Market in downtown Oshkosh is a modern take on an old-school grocery store.

Bratwurst is made on site. There’s a deli and customers have their choice of 100 cheeses.

“There used to be one on every corner 100 years ago and now there are very, very few,” said co-owner Kris Larson. “When we were looking at spots, we knew right away we wanted to be downtown.”

While it serves the people who live in downtown Oshkosh, it gets other visitors too..

Moraine Park Technical College 'looks to future' after $55 million referendum

FOND DU LAC – A month after voters across 10 counties approved a $55 million referendum for Moraine Park Technical College, the school's president is excited to start work on four facilities she believes will help the area prepare for future workforce demands.

More than 57% of voters on the November referendum said "yes" to approve the plan that will update four facilities in Fond du Lac and West Bend.

MPTC President Bonnie Baerwald said the four projects are expected to be built between 2023 and 2025, with the first project scheduled to break ground for construction in May...

Wisconsin's rising scientists look to discover new antibiotics amid global 'crisis'

GREEN BAY -- Science students from across Wisconsin are looking to slow down the world's "antibiotic crisis."

As bacteria mutate over time, they gain resistance to the antibiotics that are supposed to kill them. With this, the world is running out of effective antibiotics, so students have been looking to discover new ones through the Tiny Earth curriculum.

This is crucial work, explained Angelo Kolokithas, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College's director of biology. "People will start to die again of things like strep throat unless we do something about it," he explained...

11 Wisconsin companies make Newsweek's 2022 list of America's Most Responsible Companies (1 from the New North)

Eleven Wisconsin companies are included in Newsweek magazine’s third annual list of America’s Most Responsible Companies.

Newsweek partners with Germany-based research and data firm Statista to compile the list, which includes 499 companies. Each company is given an environmental score, a social score, a corporate governance score and an overall score. Companies are then ranked by their overall scores.
