Furniture business, Packers donate mattresses to veterans
WLUK GREEN BAY -- Bob's Discount Furniture and the Green Bay Packers are Making A Difference for some area veterans. They teamed up to donate mattresses to Wisconsin National Guard and Reserve families for "Giving Tuesday."

Gov. Evers appoints Jack Salzwedel to the WEDC Board of Directors
WIS POLITICS MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today appointed Jack Salzwedel to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Board of Directors. This appointment fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Rebecca Cooke from the Board. Salzwedel is the chairman and CEO of American Family Mutual Insurance Company, a position he has held since 2011. Prior to becoming chairman and CEO, Salzwedel was the president and COO of American Family, and has served in many different roles and leadership positions at the company since his start there in 1985. Therapy dogs help put passengers at ease at Austin Straubel Airport

BROWN COUNTY – Who could resist a ‘pet me please’ sign around the neck of a giant, fluffy, chocolate brown Newfoundland pooch named Baillie?
Travelers can find this friendly 115-pound pooch, along with a few other therapy dogs, strolling through the terminals at Austin Straubel International Airport as part of its newly-launched therapy dog program.
The PawsAero Therapy Dog program, which started last month, aims to spread puppy love to passengers who may be anxious about flying, or who just want to pet a pooch.
Airport Director Marty Piette said the program was started following a visit from a therapy dog named Fritz.....

GREEN BAY - Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes will be the keynote speaker Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's annual community Kwanzaa celebration.
Since 1997, UWGB has held an annual event for the weeklong celebration for students before the end of the fall semester. This year it is back to an in-person event after it was virtual last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is open to the campus as well people in the Green Bay area. Registration can be found online...
