Excellent yields balancing out high input prices for farmers

With fuel and fertilizer at or near record highs, the extra traffic you see on area roads, thanks to local farmers, is good. Farmers took advantage of the unseasonably warm and dry weather to wrap up their soybean harvest ahead of this weekend’s wet and cool weather. The soybean harvest is 95 percent complete, four days ahead of last year’s pace.
The harvest of corn for grain is 55 percent complete across the state, which is over a week behind last year but still a day ahead of the five-year average. Rio Creek Feed Mill agronomist Adam Bara says many of their customers are seeing record or near-record yields for their operations. Following up on the success of the local wheat and soybean harvest earlier this year, he says they have gotten creative with their storage....

The trucking and logistics company unveiled its latest military-theme truck on Veterans Day Friday, Nov. 11. It features the Universal Camouflage Pattern with Schneider’s iconic orange color along with black, gray and white.
The sleek design represents the National Guard and Reserves in honor of company founder Al Schneider, who served in the Wisconsin National Guard.
Schneider hopes to inspire veterans and active military members to enter the trucking industry. The company says 14 percent of its workers have military backgrounds and it hopes to increase that number.....

STURGEON BAY - One of the city's pre-Thanksgiving traditions returns when artists and galleries open their doors for the 15th annual Sturgeon Bay Art Crawl taking place Nov, 18 to 20.
The idea behind the art crawl is to offer an opportunity for the public to not just view original artwork but also to meet the local artists and talk to them about their methods and techniques, check out their studios and galleries, and be able to purchase their works.
The crawl has taken place on the weekend before Thanksgiving every year since 2007, except for the COVID-19 pandemic-plagued year of 2020. Starting that first year with four artists exhibiting in their home studios, the event has grown to this year feature 28 artists presenting their work at 24 venues around Sturgeon Bay.....
