STURGEON BAY -- Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay is filling orders for bunker barges to transport liquified natural gas (LNG). The first barge is scheduled to be delivered this month. Work is underway on its sister ship, and an even larger barge is in the engineering stage.
The bunker barges are like gas stations on the ocean, fueling the increasing number of ships powered by LNG. Todd Thayse, VP and general manager for Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, says the demand for these barges has been growing for 10 years.
Shippers are looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint, he says, and the U.S. has a lot of natural gas....

APPLETON -- Afghan refugees are beginning to resettle all across the country, nearly three months since fleeing the Taliban takeover. Hundreds are expected to resettle here in Wisconsin, and some already have.

Creative Kids Rock will be making ornaments out of recycled materials at the Day of PLAY at UWGB’s STEM Innovation Center. It’s happening Sunday, Nov. 14, 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.

Packers award grants to 2 Northeast Wisconsin groups

GREEN BAY -- Two Northeast Wisconsin organizations have received grants from the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers Give Back program awarded two $250,000 impact grants this week to Green Bay Botanical Garden and the Wisconsin Veterans Village Association.
Green Bay Botanical Garden plans to use the funds toward its Children's Garden Expansion project, which will transform the current garden into a 2.5-acre natural wonderland, according to a news release.
