Port of Green Bay closer to reaching 2021 cargo goals

GREEN BAY -- Cargo totals running through the port of Green Bay is running 12% above this time last year, officials say.
In the month of October, nearly 230,000 tons of cargo shipped through the Port of Green Bay, reaching 1,575,114 tons for 2021.
That puts the port well within reach of its annual target of 2 million tons with two more months of shipping remaining in the current season.
In October, limestone imports once again led the way at 106,698 tons and cement shipments totalled 53,623 tons last month....

Georgia-Pacific begins construction of massive warehouse in De Pere

DE PERE -- Georgia-Pacific has begun construction of a $50 million distribution center in De Pere.
The 1.1 million-square-foot facility is being built at the end of American Boulevard in the I-41 Business Park. GP says it will warehouse and distribute products from several facilities including toilet paper, napkins and paper towels.
"Although this warehouse could have been built elsewhere in the Midwest, it made sense to locate it close to one of our largest plants in Green Bay," Jim Stauffer, GP senior director of warehousing, said in a news release. "The distribution center is a key piece of our supply chain, which will help our products reach customers as efficiently and timely as possible."...

TOWN OF HOLLAND -- A solar power plant planned for the Town of Holland has taken a major step towards reality.
On Wednesday it was announced that Alliant Energy acquired ownership of the Onion River Solar Project from Chicago-based Ranger Power and D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments. State grants millions toward local tourism

OSHKOSH -- Wisconsin's tourism industry was among the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday, nearly $15 million in grants went to support numerous Wisconsin tourism organizations throughout the state.
The grants are part of the governor's more than $140 million American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) fund investment in Wisconsin's tourism and entertainment industries.
In Oshkosh, Gov. Tony Evers announced 13 grants to help Northeast Wisconsin tourism.
