Meet the first Green Bay cohort of Milwaukee-born startup accelerator The Blueprint
WISCONSIN INNO

GREEN BAY -- From an online gift registry for divorcees to an electronic medical data automation process for life insurance underwriting, six early-stage companies presented their ideas to a group of potential investors, mentors and community members Thursday evening at The Blueprint Green Bay Pitch Night. It was held at the Urban Hub co-working space in Green Bay.

The six companies comprised the first cohort of the Green Bay chapter of The Blueprint, an entrepreneurship accelerator program started in Milwaukee by the Young Enterprising Society (YES), co-founded by brothers Que El-Amin and Khalif El-Amin. “The business had been around for 13 years, and there were five employees,” Harrison said. “The owner has some great ideas, but he added a lot of services and grew too fast so that the business was no longer profitable.”...

Scott's Subs expands during pandemic, all thanks to loyal customers
WFRV

DE PERE – While some small businesses had to shut down or downsize because of the pandemic, one Northeast Wisconsin small business is expanding.

That business is Scott’s Subs.

“I came here and Scott was playing like this air guitar so that put a smile on my face, there’s 40 different sandwiches you can get so I just took a random one and went with it,” said longtime customer Tad Schubring.

Scott’s Subs says they rely on word of mouth to get new customers through their doors. One of those first-time customers on Friday was Ryan Silfies who is from the Philadelphia area and is in Northeast Wisconsin for work...
