NEW NORTH – Barbara Koldos, vice president of business development for New North Inc., the regional marketing and economic development corporation for the 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin, has been named as one of Wisconsin’s 34 Most Influential Asian American leaders. The honor was bestowed by Madison365 in its annual listings of leaders within the state’s diverse communities.

Koldos, who has been with New North since April 2021, leads the organization’s regional site-selection process, develops and markets Opportunity Zones, directs the Gold Shovel site-certification initiative, guides Global New North efforts around Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and export activity, represents the region at trade shows and site selector events, and engages with real estate professionals to proactively identify and market sites/buildings in the New North region.....

Pandemic health care solution earns Appleton-based Boldt Co. Wisconsin 75 award for innovation

APPLETON - Conventional wisdom says “necessity is the mother of invention,” but The Boldt Co. drew on a history of innovation, too, when health care providers needed a way last year to quickly add more beds.

Boldt, an Appleton-based construction firm, heard the warnings in spring 2020 that the coronavirus pandemic could overwhelm clinics and hospitals, leaving them short on space to safely care for patients. SS Badger arrives in Sturgeon Bay for an inspection and new paint job

MANITOWOC - The popular SS Badger is away from her home for a bit for a long-awaited sprucing up.

The popular car ferry traveled this week to Sturgeon Bay, where she will stay for about a month, getting cleaned, repaired and repainted.

The Badger left Ludington, Michigan, at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, towed by two tugs from Sarter Marine Towing and arrived about 12 hours later in Door County, entering through the channel at Sturgeon Bay.

She will be drydocked and go into the yard around Nov. 15, according to Sara Spore, general manager of Lake Michigan Carferry, Inc....

GREEN BAY - The Latino Professionals Association of Northeast Wisconsin wants to build alliances for the region's growing Latino communities and create pathways to success for future generations.

Sargento, Brewers raise $60K for Hunger Task Force
FOX6 MILWAUKEE

MILWAUKEE - This season, the Milwaukee Brewers teamed up with Sargento Foods to help the community fight hunger through the Double Helping for Hunger campaign. Sargento donated $200 for each double hit to Hunger Task Force to help those in need. With 258 doubles that comes to $51,600 donated to the Milwaukee food bank.

To further amplify these efforts, Sargento donated $1 for every like, retweet and comment on Twitter by Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich, discussing hunger in our community and the need for support....
