Construction on Advocate Aurora's Fond du Lac hospital reaches midpoint

FOND DU LAC -- A hospital project in Fond du Lac is taking shape.

Advocate Aurora Health is expanding its Fond du Lac health center and turning it into a hospital.

Officials say the $74 million project is more than 50% through the planning, design and construction process.

Appleton-based construction company breaks ground on future industrial warehouse complex

SHEBOYGAN -- Consolidated Construction Company, an Appleton based construction company, broke ground on a new multi-tenant industrial warehouse at the southwest corner of Horizon Drive and South Business Drive in the SouthPointe Enterprise Campus. The Consolidated Construction Company, which held the groundbreaking ceremony for the development on Monday (October 31st), will also be the first tenant in the recently finished multi-tenant facility within the SouthPointe Enterprise Campus.

While under construction, the development will take place in two 100,000 square foot phases. Phase I will consist of three units that are planned to be rented to businesses, namely warehousing and manufacturing companies. Business amenities of each unit includes three semi-trailer docks and approximately 23 parking stalls (total of 68 stalls)...

USDA expands Rural Partners Network to Menominee County

NEOPIT -- Menominee County is now part of a federal network that helps local people create new and lasting economic opportunities.

The USDA expanded its Rural Partners Network to 12 Wisconsin counties Thursday.

This includes the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and Menominee County.

“Rural America is full of opportunities but these vital communities don’t always have a way to navigate federal agencies or access the resources of the government,” said Domestic Policy Advisor Susan Rice. “The Rural Partners Network is bringing federal staff directly to rural communities to ensure local leaders have access to federal resources as they build strong and vibrant economies.”.

Former Packers receiver Donald Driver now an owner of Cousins Subs restaurants in Green Bay, Fox Valley

Donald Driver, the Green Bay Packers' all-time leading receiver, is now a co-owner of six Cousins Subs restaurants in Green Bay and the Fox Valley.

Cousins Subs and Driver entered into a joint venture agreement for the six restaurants, the first such arrangement in the company's 50-year history. Cousins Subs has its headquarters in Milwaukee. Driver has homes in Milwaukee and Texas.

St. Norbert College Youth Orchestra to present Fall Concert
ST. NORBERT COLLEGE

DE PERE -- The Youth Orchestra Program of St. Norbert College will present its fall concert featuring all three ensembles. All performances will take place Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Walter Theatre on the St. Norbert campus. In lieu of tickets, donations can be made online at https://www.snc.edu/youthorchestra/ and at the door. Performances will also be livestreamed can be purchased for $5 at https://www.snc.edu/youthorchestra/.

Each of the three ensembles of the Youth Orchestra will perform throughout the day on Nov 13. The String Orchestra, directed by Adam Korber, and the Philharmonia, directed by Audrey Nowak, will perform at 12:30 p.m. The Youth Symphony, directed by Michael Ross, will perform at 2 p.m.

The Youth Orchestra Program of St. Norbert College fosters music appreciation through professional instruction in rehearsals that culminate in public performances. The program is currently open to students from fourth grade to age 21. This year’s orchestra comes from 40 local schools....

APPLETON - The annual Fred Sturm Jazz Celebration Weekend returns to Lawrence University Nov. 4-5, bringing more than 400 high school and middle school students to campus for immersive jazz instruction while celebrating music brilliance with concerts featuring two highly acclaimed guest artists.

Jazz Weekend has been a staple of the Lawrence Conservatory of Music since 1981, when the late Fred Sturm launched it as a non-competitive music festival for students interested in playing and learning about jazz. It has attracted a long list of jazz luminaries who have performed on the Memorial Chapel stage, among them Dizzy Gillespie, Wynton Marsalis, Diana Krall, Bobby McFerrin, and Cassandra Wilson..
