Following a nationwide search, experienced academic leader Frank Braun will begin work Jan. 17, as the new dean of the College of Business at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Braun currently serves as a professor in the School of Business at the University of Arkansas–Little Rock, where he also served as dean of the College of Business, Health and Human Services.

Packer's running back, Aaron Jones was on hand at the event at Lambeau field to kick off the event, and to honor some special guests who bring comfort to disabled veterans.

Defibrillator campaign brings 84 new AEDs to Door County, almost doubling its previous number

Door County now has almost twice as many chances to help save the lives of people experiencing a cardiac episode because of the Door County Fire Chiefs Association's Defibs4DoorCounty fundraising campaign.

The campaign, which started in February and ran through Labor Day, raised $79,898 and combined those funds with a $75,000 challenge grant from an anonymous donor for a total of nearly $155,000. That was enough to purchase 84 new automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) to distribute to government agencies and public places across the Peninsula....

Partnership creates Wisconsin's first commercial facility to create biofuel for trucks, aircraft
WISCONSIN PUBLIC RADIO

Wisconsin's first commercial facility to convert dairy farm waste into renewable biofuel for vehicles broke ground earlier this month.

That’s thanks to a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and the California-based Agra Energy.

The $20 million facility is located at the Dairyland Farm in New Franken. It will use new technology to convert manure into an estimated 750,000 gallons of renewable diesel and jet fuel each year. The company hopes to have the biofuel facility up and running by January.

Agra Energy President and Chief Technology Officer Tony Long said the biofuel produced by the new facility will be cleaner than typical diesel or jet fuel...

Wild rice seeding underway in Suamico

SUAMICO -- A restoration project is underway in the waters of Green Bay to help a native plant grow.

Crews are planting wild rice up and down the western shoreline.

Inside big white bags sits what some scientists call the possible future of the site at the Sensiba Wildlife Area in Suamico.

"We're planting wild rice in some locations in the wildlife area here to restore that plant to the wetland," said Dave Halfmann, DNR Wildlife Biologist.

WEC Energy Group will spend $360 million to own 80% of a huge Illinois solar farm

WEC Energy Group said it will invest about $360 million in a solar-panel center on a 1,500-acre Illinois site — a project that will be eligible for tax credits under the federal Inflation Reduction Act.

The project will consist of 800,000 solar panels in Clay County, Illinois, which is about 100 miles east of St. Louis. The Maple Flats Solar Energy Center is being developed by Invenergy LLC of Chicago, which is developing several other renewable-energy projects that received investments from Milwaukee-based WEC Energy (NYSE: WEC)...
