Brown County takes another step toward getting Green Bay coal piles moved

ASHWAUBENON -- Brown County wants to know what it would take to turn a former power plant location into a state-of-the-art port facility, as part of the effort to move the coal piles out of downtown Green Bay.

The county wants to transform the site of the shuttered Pulliam power plant at the mouth of the Fox River into a new home for the coal piles, which sit 2.5 miles upstream. The coal piles, owned by C. Reiss Coal Company, have been on property along the Fox River south of Mason Street since 1904...

FOND DU LAC - The long-anticipated State 23 project is working its way toward completion, with two out of three legs of the 19-mile stretch from Plymouth to Fond du Lac opening up to four-lane traffic this month.

The $173 million expansion of the roadway into a four-lane divided highway from Sheboygan County P to U.S. 151 just east of the city of Fond du Lac began in May 2019 in Plymouth and will conclude in 2022 in Fond du Lac County. The project also improves numerous intersections along the way...

Here's how Sheboygan city and county officials might spend a 'tremendous influx' of pandemic funds
SHEBOYGAN PRESS 

SHEBOYGAN - Possibilities abound for how local government officials can use new federal COVID-19 funds.

Sheboygan County municipalities will receive $51.4 million from the American Rescue Plan’s pandemic recovery funding. The City of Sheboygan and Sheboygan County will receive about $22 million each.

County Administrator Adam Payne said that in his 23 years on the job, he’s never seen anything like the amount of revenue coming to local governments, calling it a “tremendous influx of resources.”..

GREEN BAY – Schreiber Foods created the Nancy Armbrust Impact Award to honor Nancy Armbrust, a retired Schreiber Foods executive, community advocate and leader. The award is given annually to recognize a woman who, in the same spirit of Nancy, has had an indelible impact on the community. 

The award, given in partnership with Schreiber Foods and the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, includes a grant of $5,000 to be given to the recipient’s nonprofit organization of choice through the Women’s Fund biannual grant cycle.

MOSINEE – Florence County has approved plans by S.C. Swiderski, LLC for a multi-family development in the Town of Florence, Wisconsin. The company plans to build 44 market rate apartments. S.C. Swiderski, LLC is a regional leader in real estate development which has over a half billion dollars of residential projects in development.

The apartment site has been named SCS Florence and will be located on 10 acres of land on Chapin Street north of Lagoon Road. The plans for the site feature three buildings and will offer 12 different floor plans ranging from 700 to 1237 square feet. There will be a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and townhomes.
