Lakeside Foods purchases Cher-Make Sausage Co.

MANITOWOC – Lakeside Foods, Inc., a leading frozen and canned foods manufacturer, is purchasing Cher-Make Sausage Co., a 93-year-old authentic sausage maker that produces quality summer sausage, hot dogs, ring bologna and bratwurst at its Manitowoc-based plant.
The deal is set to close on Monday. The acquisition offers Lakeside a new product category that will benefit its existing customer base. “Cher-Make is a respected maker of premium sausage and meat products, with a long history in
the Manitowoc community, and we’re honored to carry on the Cher-Make legacy,” said Joe Yanda,

FOND DU LAC - A new initiative between Fond du Lac County and wireless provider Bug Tussel will expand broadband internet to rural areas that lack or have poor connectivity.
The county is poised to help gain funding for an $80 million broadband project that in Fond du Lac County adds six towers for wireless broadband service, 10 towers for wireless broadband and cellular service and approximately 160 miles of middle-mile fiber optic cable.....

Kewaunee County zoo adds new statues, breaks ground on new pheasant exhibit

KEWAUNEE COUNTY -- The Bruemmer Park Zoo in Kewaunee celebrated some new additions at its Zoobilee event on Saturday.
Three life-size statues of a zebra, lion, and rhino were dedicated. Steve Bruemmer donated them.
They join a metal giraffe statue already at the zoo. A groundbreaking was also held for a new pheasant exhibit.
