MADISON – Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) and Johnson Financial Group announced on Wednesday the top 16 products moving on in the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin contest. Nearly 50,000 votes were cast over the last week. The 16 Wisconsin-made products will move on to Manufacturing Madness – a head-to-head tournament-style bracket.

TOWN OF TWO CREEKS -- A new facility, which uses the power of the sun to create electricity, is officially open for business.

Local 400 Apprentice Signing Day held in Kaukauna 
NEW NORTH, INC.

KAUKAUNA -- The Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 400 held its 2nd annual Apprentice Signing Day Sept. 24 to recognize their 80 first-year apprentices with a certificate of achievement. Several of the over 100 signatory contractors were also in attendance, recognizing the importance of careers in skilled trades like plumbing, steamfitting and pipe fabrication.  

Barb LaMue, president & CEO of New North, Inc. presented the keynote remarks, thanking the apprentices and contractors who are a vital part of our region. "We are a region with a population of 1.28 MM, 22% of Wisconsin's population, employment and GDP. We are blessed to have 675,00 full-time careers and growing. Thank you for being part of our region's economic prosperity," she said.
